What is the difference between counseling, coaching, and consulting?

No matter what you’re facing, we want to make sure you’re getting the right kind of service. Counseling, coaching, and consulting may all sound similar, but they have a few key differences.

Counseling, or therapy, works to identify what’s currently causing distress and uncovering past wounds, while coaching is focused on helping you move forward rather than overcoming your past. In consulting, we’ll listen to your situation and goals and provide you, or your group, with our recommendation.

What can I expect in the first appointment?

Your first appointment will be the foundation for our future sessions. We’ll use this time to go through your intake forms, listen well, and review your goals. We know it can be daunting to start this process, but we want you to feel comfortable, supported, and cared for each step of the way.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards, HSA cards, cash, or checks.

How often should I schedule appointments?

How often we meet will be based on your needs and preferences. Often we suggest that people begin with coming in once a week. This can help create a solid foundation for our work and also build momentum. As clients begin to notice changes, sessions gradually become more spaced out and clients choose to return on an as-needed basis.

How do I schedule an appointment?

If you’re a new client, first reach out to us to set up a phone consultation. After your initial call, you will be given access to our online portal to sign consent forms, schedule appointments, and communicate with your counselor.

How do I know if I really need counseling or coaching?

Counseling and coaching can be incredibly powerful in helping people attain healing and change. If you are doubting about your specific needs, we’d love to offer a free consultation to help you determine what services might be best to fit your goals.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

Brief treatment is usually considered to be anything between 3-6 months, but the time you take depends on your own goals. It takes time to make lasting changes and we’d encourage you to look at this as an investment in yourself, your family, and your future.
